Embracing Fluidity in the Midst of Constant Change
Marking a year of disruption with art-based healing work.
WHEN: Friday, March 12, 2021, from 2:00-2:45 PM EST
WHERE: Zoom link will be circulated to registrants
WHO: For nonprofit professionals, creatives, and any adults who feel like they’ve hit the “pandemic wall.” (This includes me.)
WHAT: We have reached a full year of pandemic disruptions in the U.S. — a year filled with losses of many kinds. A year of personal and social and political upheaval.
We all need a pause.
This 45-minute session will help you step outside of your daily routines and create space to process the past year. Through guided meditation and simple drawing exercises, the session will open up creativity, intuition, and resilience.
No prior art experience is necessary. The session is designed for individual reflection, with optional opportunities to share and engage with the group. You are invited to be as present in the moment as possible, understanding that cats, kids, and/or existential rage might make that complicated.
You will need computer access (Zoom), 3-5 sheets of blank paper, and a writing utensil. If possible, I encourage nice, heavy-weight paper and a set of quality pens or markers, to help you feel engaged in a special moment. But don’t overthink it: scrap paper and a chewed-up pencil work too. The focus will be on the process of drawing, not on a finished product.
FACILITATOR: Melinda Steffy, visual artist & founder of Concentric Strategy
HOW TO JOIN: Session is pay-what-you-wish. A sliding fee of $5-$20 is suggested, but free is 100% fine. Space is limited; please register in advance.
